In case you haven’t been paying attention, tens of thousands of Americans around the country
are protesting against the aggressive and intrusive TSA screenings at airports. Not surprisingly, people do not like the idea of being subjected to an actual X-RAY MACHINE – being exposed to harmful (yes, harmful,. Click here to read more) X-Rays – nor do people like the thought of being pat down, searched, groped, fondled, and handled by TSA hourly wage workers.
[I added that ‘hourly wage worker’ part to highlight the fact that these are NOT trained law officers, nor are they any type of TRAINED security force specializing in dealing with actual terrorist threats. TSA screeners are regular people. No disrespect to them, but they could just as well have worked at Wendy’s or delivered pizzas for $12 an hour. instead, they are posted up at airports, running highly radiative X-Ray machines and touching millions of people’s private parts.]
If that doesn’t disturb a person, I’m not sure what does?

The largest independent union of airline pilots in the world is urging its members to boycott body imaging machines currently being rolled out in airports all over the globe, citing dangers of excessive exposure to harmful levels of radiation during the screening process.
The president of the Allied Pilots Association, which represents 11,500 pilots, many of whom work for American Airlines, has urged members of the union to revolt against the devices.

But TSA Chief Joe Pistole feels that this is completely okay. In fact – he feels its necessary even though thousands of airline travelers are riled up over the intrusive security screening measures. Apparently, no one likes being subjected to X-Ray radiation or having complete strangers grope, fondle, and probe their bodies. In the midst of this outcry, Pistole defends TSA’s practices, calling airline travel a ‘privilege’, and that those who refuse screening give up the right to fly on an airplane.

A ‘privilege’ to fly? Really?
well Mr Pistole, I would argue that people had been getting around just fine for the past 50,000 or so years without flying the friendly skies. I would argue that the multi-BILLION dollar airline industry is at the complete MERCY of people who are willing to fly, not the other way around. And I would argue that If a nationwide protest went into effect the industry would be crippled overnight…..
No, Mr Pistole – REAL Americans – the ones that understand the value of Constitutional Rights to personal privacy, the Right to not be treated like a terrorist, the Right to not be searched without due/just cause – these Americans will stand up to and fight for those Rights, even in the midst of a so-called terrorist threat. That is what separates America from other countries.
American citizens want terrorists to be stopped. We want terrorism around the world to cease. And we’re willing to send troops abroad to stop terrorist threats. But we DEFINITELY DO NOT want to be treated like a terrorist in our own home! >: o(
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
